SDMA provides greater reliability for identifying kidney disease in hyperthyroid cats

Hyperthyroidism masks the presence of kidney disease in cats. And, until now, veterinarians have lacked a reliable, routine diagnostic test for assessing kidney function in hyperthyroid cats.

In a recent retrospective data analysis, this test reliably identified 6 times more hyperthyroid cats with kidney disease. Creatinine missed 82% of hyperthyroid cats that the IDEXX SDMA Test identified as having kidney disease.1
